Field Trips

A field trip to 1870 Farm is a fun and educational addition to the school year!

A field trip at 1870 Farm offers a hands on experience where students will come face to face with a goat and get their hands dirty in our garden all while learning the importance of agriculture.

Perfect for preschool, elementary, and homeschool groups- our field trips are rotational based and include a farm tour, access to animal pens, and a lesson that can be catered to any curriculum or grade level.  We also offer hayrides and gem mining for an additional fee.

When are tours available?

We schedule field trips Monday-Friday and are able to adjust the start time to fit your needs.

How long does a field trip take?

Our field trip programming normally takes between 1-2 hours depending on your groups size and agenda for the day.  Your group is welcome to stay on the farm and explore on your own after your rotations are done.

Do you have a place to eat lunch?

Our large barn and patio are the perfect place for a picnic lunch we just ask that no glass is brought to the farm.

How much do your field trips cost?

Our prices vary depending on your needs and the staff required. When you speak with our coordinator we can customize a rate and your farm experience.

What does your field trip include?

Our field trips include a guided walking tour of the farm, access to our petting zoo, and a hands on lesson that is personalized to your curriculum and standards.

What happens if it rains on our field trip day?

1870 Farm runs field trips rain or shine.  In the event of adverse  weather we are happy to reschedule your group.
