Worlds First Pumpkin Golf Tournament!!!
We are excited to announce that we are creating a fundraiser to benefit the
Chapel Hill Carrboro Public School Foundation on Saturday October 24th at the 1870 Farm.
Not only will there be over 300 pumpkins given away FREE, but anyone may enter the worlds first "pumpkin golf tournament". The game actually still in development will entail you to roll pumpkins in a 3 hole golf course created especially for our event. The tournamen will have several age groups 5 and under, 9 and under, 12 and under and adult. Two winners from each age group will then be allowed to participate in a 20 minute fishing derby, where participants are likely to encounter Largemouth Bass, Catfish and fiesty Bream- the person catching the biggest fish will be crowned winner and receieve a very special prize. There will be prizes for all the finalists as well.
Not only will visitors be able to witness the first tournament of its kind but also have access to live music, food and the new 1870 Farm mining company mines, two full sluices and three indivisual mines that will give visitors a chance to search for over 300 differnt types of gemstones, fossils and more.
The pygmy goats, fainting goats and the soon to be world famous chicken races are sure to entertain young and old alike.
The farm located only minutes from the UNC chapel hill campus continues to establish itself as agrowing agri-tourism farm for kids to learn, explore and enjoy the 17 cares of pastures, woods and trails.
