Private Visits and Events
Celebrate with a private visit to the farm!
Private events start at $300 for two hours. Currently, guest capacity is capped at 20 people (adults and children over 2-years old included).
Each private event includes:
feed for your new animal friends
access to the petting zoo
fishing access (bring your own bait and tackle)
gem mine access (gem bags must be purchased ahead
access to indoor and shaded outdoor space for your event... you're welcome to decorate!
What does a private event entail?
During a private event, you and your guests will have private access to the farm. Private groups are limited to 20 guests (adults and children over 2-years old included). The White Barn offers a beautiful indoor setting for celebrations and opens to a shaded outdoor patio with plenty of picnic tables. You are welcome to decorate for your event, provided all decorations are removed before you depart.
What happens after we arrive?
You'll check in with 1870 Farm staff at the farm stand in the parking lot. They'll give you the rundown of farm safety, show you indoor and outdoor space available for your event, and provide you with a walkie-talkie and feed buckets for the animals. Our staff are available to assist with farm activities (gem-mining, petting pen interactions), but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your time with your guests!
What's your cancellation/refund policy?
We understand that sometimes things happen! Check out our cancellation policy here.
Are masks required?
Masks are required whenever your group is in close proximity to 1870 Farm staff. There is plenty to explore on the farm--social distancing is easy to do out here! You are welcome to unmask when you are not around others outside of your group.
Are pets allowed?
We are big animal lovers here, but for the safety of all of our guests and our animals, we cannot allow personal pets on the farm, even for private events.
Can I arrive early or stay late?
Please plan to arrive on the farm no more than 5-10 minutes ahead of your scheduled visit - this helps us keep track of all of our farm guests and ensure that the site is operating at a safe capacity. For the same reason, we ask that you depart promptly when your scheduled visit time is over.
How should I advise guests to dress for the farm?
We encourage visitors to dress in layers and take the day’s forecast into consideration. Prepare for the possibility of mud and a good amount of walking over uneven terrain--the farm is as big as it is beautiful.
Is photography allowed?
Yes! Our animals are anything but camera shy. Some of them tend to think they're celebrities and we honestly can't argue that point.
Is it okay to bring food?
Absolutely! We have trash cans available to keep things tidy, and there are plenty of picnic tables available throughout the farm. Refrigeration is available if you need. Please note: for safety, we do not allow glass containers on the property.
What's the bathroom situation?
We have a bathroom trailer conveniently located in the parking lot for easy access. If you need a changing table, just let our staff know and we'll be able to help you out.
