Japanese Shibori Dyeing Workshop
June 3 (1-3PM)
Join textile artist, Diana Cathcart, for a hands-on exploration in the Japanese art of Shibori dyeing.
Shibori practice incorporates the use of various techniques- including binding, clamping, and stitching-that produces a 3D effect on fabric once it’s dyed in a natural indigo vat (dye bath). The result is a beautiful, printed textile that has depth and a story. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with all three techniques before they dye their own silk scarf. All supplies included.
Ages 10 and up.
